Senior Year of High School!

1. Did you date someone from your school? I don't think I "dated" anyone from Great Valley (but I did have a "fling" with Alfred Churchill my whole freshman year)

4. What kind of car did you have? I had a piece of crap Mustang 2 & a '78 Monte Carlo (loved that car)

7. It is Friday night 2009... and I'm probably: coming home from swim practice at the Y with my daughter & getting ready to watch another frickin' Disney movie!

25 Random things about me (AGAIN)

1. I was not popular in school but, everybody definitely knew me.

2. I have been smoking cigarettes since I was 12. I am almost 39 now & I am trying to talk myself into quitting. (but I'm smoking right now, while I type this)

3. I love getting tattoos! And, I have considered being a tattoo apprentice.

4. I was born in Washington D.C. on March 12th, 1970 with blood poisoning. I spent the first ten days of my life in an incubator. After my mom & dad brought me home, they got the hospital bill and on it was a $15 charge for circumcision! I'm a GIRL!

5. I let my daughter stay up too late sometimes on school nights.

6. I am diagnosed with Bi Polar Disorder & PTSD and, have been in the psych hospital approximately 9 times since I was 21.

7. I used to date ONLY men 6'4" or taller, but both of my children's "birth" fathers have been an inch shorter than me. (I am 5'7" I think)

8. I met my ex-husband in the psych hospital. But he was 6'8"!

9. It took me over ten years to graduate college, but I did it! I got a BFA in Studio Art (I renamed it my "starving artist degree").

10. I know where the son I placed for adoption over 15 years ago is, but I cannot contact him.

11. One of my friends on here is an ex-boyfriend and one is an ex-girlfriend (and, they are related to each other! weird, huh?)

12. I was baptized twice. First when I was 14 (because a boy I liked got baptized the Sunday before) & second was when I was in college and was starting to straighten up my life.

13. I wonder if any of you are really reading this. ???

14. I love to sleep in on Saturday mornings if I can & I get very upset when someone rings my phone (when I have forgotten to turn the ringer off).

15. I love Facebook & am happy that I have "found" so many friends. I just wish I could find Moira Burrows!

16. I always had very short hair in my teenage years. I started letting it grow out after I got pregnant the first time. But, about every 4 years, I chop it all off again (forgetting that I like it long better).

17. I got into body building right after high school & into power lifting in college. I used to dead lift 400 lbs., leg press 710 lbs., but I could barely bench press 100 lbs. (I'm such a "girl")

18. Two things I DON'T like about myself are: 1) I smoke -remember #2... and B) I am NOT a tidy person.

19. I walk around my house (inside only) naked when my daughter is in school.

20. I was in two drug rehabs when I was a teenager. I have lost contact with my "best friend" in the first one. Angelique! If I could remember how to spell your last name, I could probably find you again!

21. I ran away from home (took Greyhound from Philly to Boston, Mass) in 10th grade with my pet rat "Vorpool".

22. I think I have a good sense of humor.

23. At this time in my life, I am a "loner". I do not like to go out of the house. But, I make myself for Mikayla's sake.

24. I enjoy "poking" Nick Leusky!

25. I want to be an art teacher in a middle school when I grow up.

25 Random Things(I've done this several times already, but I'll do it again cuz I like talk about myself) LOL (FB game AGAIN)

Rules: come up with 25 random things then tag 25 random people remember if you have been tagged by me to tag me .. I did this because I want to know more about you.

1) I drink an average of 2.5 pots of coffee in a day. From morning all the way til right before bed!
2) I started lifting weights in the gym when I was 12. I started body building right after high school. I was a power lifter in college. (I could Leg Press 720 pounds)
3) I used to carve in my arms when I was a teenager. The worst thing I carved was "ANARCHY" into my left arm.
4) I lost my equilibrium in 1989 & I still can't find it!
5) It took me ten whole years to complete college, BUT I DID IT! &, now, I don't even use my degree!
6) My daughter complains that I am addicted to facebook & she's right!
7) I used to tell people my name was George when I was a kid in the girl scouts.
8) I wish I never got on Disability! (THANKS head injury!)
9) I don't think anyone read my list list like this. Who's going to read this one???
10) After I stopped carving in my arms, I started getting things pierced & tattooed.
11) I am extremely lousy at organizing, yet I make lists all the time.
12) I am a part-part time cashier at a gas station, which I love because I am a "people person"!
13) I have permanent double vision. So, I have to wear glasses with prisms in them. These are very expensive! (AND, insurance doesn't cover them!) :(
14) When I was a kid, I wanted to be a body-builder, truck driver, and 6'5". I did the first (see #2), I drove a 1-ton flat bed for 10 months (decided my ass hurt too much), & I only reached 5'7".
15) My daughter was going to be twins. But the other "disappeared" during my first trimester. Apparently, this happens a lot (most women don't even know when it does).
16) I think I snore.
17) My ex-husband was a BIG mistake! I think I only married him because he's 6'8"!
18) I'd like to go back to school and get my teaching certificate so I can use my art degree and teach art in a middle school somewhere AND, finally get off of Disability!
19) I got hit by a car when I was riding my bicycle home from college one day. Landed on my head and cried to the EMTs that I didn't want to go to the hospital cuz my parents would get furious that I wasn't wearing my helmet!
20) I have been living in Tennessee for over 20 years now. Whenever I would go home to visit (PA), I always got depressed. So, I stopped going home about 5 years ago. BUT, I am planning a trip up there this summer & now that I have "found" all these friends from my younger days (thanks Facebook!), I am looking forward to the trip!
21) I have around 15 tattoos and I want more! (Glad to know a tattoo artist, this obsession or hobby of mine would be more expensive!)
22) I love to go dancing in clubs but, nowadays, I feel too fat to go! Catch 22?
23) Up until 2 years ago, I had to take 6-7 different medications daily (thankfully, insurance covered that!) Now, I only have to take three!
24) I used to want to get remarried one day and have another child, but I can't have anymore children :o( And, if I do get married again, I will NEVER again change my last name! MURPHY FOR LIFE!
25) I have the world's smallest bladder! Thanks to 2 ten-pound babies & 2 C-sections!

JillyBean ˚͜˚ ByrneMurphy: That's what makes me feel drawn to that age group! I know that's when I started having trouble. I'd like to be there to help one or two (at least) get through those days! You know, share my experience, strength & hope!

Ingrid D.-L.: THAT would make you an awesome teacher. I wish more of the middle school teachers felt that way. My oldest is in 6th grade now, but in Catholic school. I just know my personality - I think I'd be going thermonuclear on a daily basis (haha)!

Kathy B.-A.: #9...I read 'em, too! You are a remarkable and interesting person! I remember way more of you from early years than high school. I do remember hearing about your accident thru my parents. My mom hears about everything - or at least she used to when she was so involved in the schools. I find the tatoos fascinating. I don't have any, nor do I want any, but I am strangely interested in those of everyone else! I've also seen your art. You should pursue that. You are very talented. What about creating stuff to sell on Etsy or other art places or local boutiques? Use your gift!

JillyBean ˚͜˚ ByrneMurphy: Thanks Kathy! I love reading these too! And, about the art... I have been having a difficult time being creative these days because my bi polar is so heavily medicated! The stupid anti depressants & anti anxiety pills & other "mood stabilizers" STIFLE me! BUT! I need to stay on course in order to keep my sanity AND (more importantly) to provide Mikayla with a good mom!

Kathy B.-A.: Yep. Once you have children they certainly take priority. Plus, from what I understand about bi-polar, the meds are important, regardless. I knew someone who had it and would go off of her meds because they flattened her, then she'd be manic. It's rough when the "cure" doesn't make you feel the way you'd like to. Hopefully, they'll come up with something better soon. Psych drugs have come a long way in the last 10 years even tho they're far from perfect. Take care of yourself. You deserve it!

JillyBean ˚͜˚ ByrneMurphy: I remember two times when I was feeling great without the med.s: BOTH times I was pregnant! I had to go off my med.s while I had babies growing inside me! :o) And, I felt better than I ever did before I started even taking them! I think the drug laboratories need to come up with a way of turning prenatal hormones into a cure! LOL

Suellen R.: Hormones are directly related to neurotransmitters-a medical way to explain that you felt better pregnant. Also the twin thing is common-the 2nd fetus is re-absorbed into the mother's body.

Rich M.: # 6 - "Addicted to Facebook" ... Preface ... this is NOT directed at Mikayla; I'm sure she's a sweet kid having a bit of fun with you. But she raises a point I've heard alot about lately; are we addicted to facebook? I spent summers with my grandmother as a pre-teen. She was born in 1904. She devoted AT LEAST 2 hours of every day reading & writing letters; some to people in other countries, other states, or even just across town. She wrote to her sister, her friends, my Dad, to me. Hers was a generation that took writing to each other seriously.

Rich M.: Then came our parents' generation, the Boomers. Long distance phone calls became affordable and the Interstate highway system made in-person visits easier. Suddenly, it wasn't quite as urgent to write so often. After all, our loved ones were only a phone call away, right? And we just saw them last Thanksgiving. But somehow, we drifted away from those connections. I know I did.

Rich M.: So now that OUR generation has rediscovered the joy of WRITING to one another, we're being told by Op-Ed columnists AND our spoiled, me-generation kids that WE'RE addicted? Guess what folks? This isn't Nintendo, this isn't Pokemon, and it sure as HELL isn't "Reality" TV! This is REAL people having REAL conversations with those who matter to us. Sure, some of the content is trivial. But some of it's damn serious, too, and I dare say even important. So I say, let's tell our kids to finish their damn homework, especially that whole "writing" thing they teach. And you keep posting, Jill. I could read this stuff all day.

1) I am having to get thousands of dollars of work done on my teeth because of all the medicines I have had to take & because I love coffee in my sugar (as well as Cherry Pepsi)!
2) I love riding my bicycle! I just can't ride it until I get off of my lazy ass & fix the flat tires!
3) I had my nose, belly button, and other various body parts pierced, but I took them (Plus 8 of my earrings) out when my daughter turned 2. I felt that was something I needed to do so I could feel like a mommy. But, I have since tried to have my tongue pieced on 3 separate occasions. All 3 X's failed becuz the swelling would NEVER go done & I found it very hard to hold a serious conversation!
4) I STILL can't find my equilibrium or the brain cells I have misplaced!
5) I gained 65 lb.s during my 1st pregnancy (TOO MUCH), but I lost 35 immediately from all the water in my body & another 10.5 was my son! So, I only had to lose 20 more lbs to get back to my normal weight! (That's just too much math for my little brain!)
6) I can watch a movie and then, a month later, watch it again like I never saw it before! (Thanks to short term memory loss!)
7) I used to tell the other girl scouts at summer camp that I was a martian because I had no belly button, just a red striped stomach (I was wearing my swim suit under my clothes all the time)! LOL
8) My favorite artists are Freida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, & Jonathon Borofsky.
9) i AM SORRY WHEN i ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE CAP LOCKS BUTTON!
10) I LOVE MY COONHOUND! No cap locks there! I purposely hit shift while typing "I LOVE MY COONHOUND!"
11) I wish I was taller than 6'! But, there's no chance of that happening!
12) I don't think I got to "bond" with my mother when I was born, because I was immediately placed into an incubator.
13) I am blessed because my parents are so supportive of me (even at age 39)!
14) I appreciate what Lamictal does for me (emotionally speaking) except that it stifles my creativity immensely!
15) I don't miss living in PA, but I have considered trying to move back lately (to be closer to my parents again)... but, I am most likely stuck here in TN!

19) I ran away from home (Malvern, PA - King of Prussia, PA - Philadelphia, PA - New York City - somewhere in CONN - ending up in Boston, MASS) when I was 16 years old. I took my pet rat, "Vorpool" with me. He pooped all over himself (in his box) so, when I arrived in Boston, I gave him a bath in the public restroom of the bus station & everybody stared at me).
20) I used to go to Sci-Fi Con.s only to get high, not for the Science Fiction!
21) I no longer get high! ...or, run away anymore!
22) I had my 5th car accident when I took my old prescription of Klonopin, doubling up my prescribed dose, in order to stop having so many panic attacks when my shrink had not returned any of my phone calls... I ended up in the Loony Bin hospital that same day! Nobody got hurt!
23) My mom buys fish oil pills for me all the time, but I always forget to take any even though I know Omega Three helps my brain function better!
24) I HEART FACEBOOK! :o)
25) Reese Witherspoon is my cousin from my mother's side of the family. & NO, I don't want a doggy biscuit or a bone!

# 19 - I ran away at 16 or 17 and stopped over in NY NY on my way to Burlington, VT, spending over a day at Port Authority, had a con-artist talk me into cashing in my bus ticket to VT and letting him "hold on to" my cash for safe keeping. But as the evening progressed, he got drunker and I got soberer, (that word passed spell check!), I ended up getting my cash back, PLUS all HIS cash and other "items" he had on his person and eventually made it to Burlington. I would not have been successful in this endeavor with a pooping rat in tow.

1) I don't even remember much about 2007, let alone 2008... this is 2009 right?
2) I ALSO love not having to worry about a lawn, basement or roof. BUT, I still hate my condo!
3) The tragus piercing worked for me!!! NO migraines in 5 years! WooHoo!
4) I don't even know where my synapses are!
5) Most of my clothes don't fit me (either TOO small or TOO big -mostly too small). I am a jeans & T type of girl!
7) I love rock climbing, but have only been able to go three times.
8) I met a guy on a dating web site once (a few years ago). He lived in Seattle, WASH & he flew me up there to spend a week with him. That's when I learned to climb rocks!
9) I tend to get one speeding ticket every one or two years.
10) I chop all my hair off after I have let it grow out for four or five years. Every time I cut it, I remember that I musta forgot that I hate it short! Last year, I cut 17 inches off! I used to never have long hair (used to shave it).
11) I have BIG feet! Size 11 or 12 in woman's, depending on the type of shoe. Most of the time I have to buy guys shoes, unless I wanna pay a "pretty penny"!

Because he really was as dumb as a jelly fish & as lethargic as a sponge, too. It was all that Serequel and Oxycontin he was taking! That's eventually why I kicked him out & divorced him!
21) I saw Billy Idol in concert (at the Starwood Amphitheatre in Nashville, TN) after years of "worshiping" him... I don't care about him that much anymore.

1) Last beverage--- 11:21PM CST & I am still drinkin' a cup of coffee!
2) Last phone call--- just talked with my new friend, Matt, for half an hour! I can't believe that... Cuz I abhor talking on the phone really.

4) Last song you listened to--- Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle with my daughter on the way home from swim practice.
5) last time you cried--- I use to be such a cry baby! But, now, not so much! I can't remember the last time. I definitely remember crying in Mrs. Debolt's 3rd grade class! At the end of the year, she passed awards to everyone & she gave me "The Cry Baby Award". This made me cry hard, cuz it really hurt my feelings! This could have scarred me for life!

6) Dated someone twice --- does this mean go out with someone on more than 2 dates? Nah, I use 'em & lose 'em! (I'm JUST KIDDING!) But, I don't think I have dated the same guy again after breakin up with him the first time.
